Courage the Cowardly Dog

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 29, 2012, 6:34 AM
Anybody remember that show?
I know most people remember freaky Fred. :iconfreakyfredplz:

Its one of my top favorites Cartoon Network shows, I love it so much, and somehow back then it did not scare me at all except for this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u-98F… and King Ramses Curse
Now that I'm older more than 5 episodes actually scared me, I'm actually having trouble sleeping now because of it, the show is also the reason why I'm super overprotective with my family, whenever I'm watching the show now I kept imagining myself as Courage, running, screaming and pretty sure I'm not going to be in one piece.

As a kid I mostly found that show funny. Of all the monsters only Ramses scared me.

What I love about the show is the fact that Courage isn't cowardly at all! He is scared of everything, but he always overcomes his fears and does anything and everything to save Muriel and anyone else in need (except Eustace, who gets eaten sometimes but is always fine in the next episode). As a kid I thought Courage doesn't get enough credit for all he does.

But most of all, I love the comedy. Like Courage's screams, and the way he morphs his body to describe the danger to Eustace and Muriel (but they never get him seriously). And the shear randomness is just brilliant in every episode.

And the episode called "The Mask" is one of my faves :3 so cute ;u; that cat and that rabbit x3

I didn't find the King Ramses guy or Fred scary. But there was one episode that terrified me as a kid, but I can't remember what the monsters name was.

I always loved that show and I never was scared. I thought Courage was funny I just looked at all the silly faces he makes and other things didn't bother me xDD
I had trouble sleeping (I'd say that trouble was a terrible nightmare which felt so real) not so long ago... I've seen the same bad dream for 3 days so I was so scared I didn't sleep at all for another 2 days and fainted when I was at my brother's place. When I woke up he slapped me and yelled at me and said that I scared him to death XDDD

It's funny because I went on a nostalgic craze and tried to rewatch Courage.

Back then I would just laugh and find it cute.
Now I have a tinge of fear.

I don't even understand why. But I still love that show to bits. Being scared or not. xP

They managed to pull off a pretty good horror/comedy cartoon. (More horror than comedy even, sometimes)
The episode with the roadside bar with the pig cooks was crazy creepy.

You should totally draw Freaky Fred
he'd be so awesome in your style :)
I usually draw him with Pinkamena, lol ;P

omg, same here.
That scene was downright freaky
I still find it disturbing :D

I actually read up on it and it's supposed to
be Eustace's bugle, lol

Yeah, in that episode he received a broken Bugle/Trumpet in the mail that he used to scare Courage.

Regardless, it's still the creepiest thing I've ever seen on the show :D

Here's the actual article on the Courage Wiki :)

I remember the cartoon, I watched it when I was very young. I think I remember all the characters except some....weird thing, I can't really remember any episodes. Maybe except the muesem one with the Thinker and Mona Lisa, lol the Thinker was not sure at the cafe or something and he had to 'think about it.' And mureum(or whatever her name is mureal or whatever) was stuck in the Mona Lisa picture...that was a good episode.
My favourite character would have to be the computer. He's always smart and helping out Courage with these weird adventures, it's like the computer knows everything, like hes been in those situations.

Besides that, I think some episodes DID scare me, I think I remember this white head that made my heartbeat race...anyways this is one of my favourite cartoons too.

I loved that show! It was huge part of my childhood :D And king Ramses was the only thing to ever scare...mostly because it was some of the first 3D animation being used in television and I had never send anything like it before. It still scares me :stare:

Are you aware theyre bringing it back for CN's anniversary? I'm so excited! :la: Unfortunately, the voice actor who played eustice died, and I think muriel's voice did too. :(

aww that's a shame.. :C
y'know I either love/scared of a new continuation, especially with Eustace and Muriel's new *voice*

I know, a long time ago i always wonder what Courage is gonna do next when Eustace and Muriel already passed on..

I agree...I don't know if I could get over the replacement of their actors...

Me too, when I was little I would think about that. I remember having a dream once where they had passed, and this little girl had found him at the house and adopted him ^^; I would find that cute, but I would deeply miss muriel especially..

Aw don't think about it, just enjoy the fact they're stil together in TV land :)
You know, as a kid I didn't know what a nephew was (despite already having one heh) and now my minds making the connection that they had kids...wow. Can't imagine Eustice with a son O_o But I would like to see courage living with his extended family :) it'd be interesting, albeit sad..
